Stephen is a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC), Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC), and full member with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association, a voluntary registrant with the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (CCPCPR), a Clinical Traumatologist (TICT-CT) with the Traumatology Institute, a therapist for Central Alberta Child and Family Services, a therapist for the Breaking Free Foundation, and Certified in Brainspotting with Brainspotting International. He holds Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachlor of Education degrees as well as a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology.
Stephen has resided in Red Deer since 1992. He has three sons - Jesse, 25, Gabe, 16, and Freddie, 10 who he spends lots of time with playing and watching sports, interacting, teaching, and learning.
Stephen has taught various courses from Kindergarten to College level (including psychology based courses) and coached soccer both recreationally and competitively from U4 to College level.
Stephen is an empathetic non-judgemental therapist who works collaboratively with clients to help them navigate through life. He utilizes various therapeutic modalities and interventions to find the best solution and believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of counselling.
