Individual Therapy is discovery.  It is a journey.  It is an ongoing exploration of self:  identity, beliefs, values, and views. 

 

Excavating our internal world can be difficult and uncomfortable.  However, developing the ability to sit with uncomfortable feelings while learning about ourselves is critical to self-awareness.  

​Individual therapy allows us the time, space, and opportunity to be seen, heard, and understood in a therapeutic relationship we may not have access to with our current relationships (nor should we). We are built for community and require an array of supports.  An attuned therapist, being one of these supports, allows us to be more vulnerable and open ourselves to greater possibilities.

At Guidance Professional Services, we strive to make connections to our client's family of origin, life experiences, and attachments and connections in early life that have influenced how we perceive others.  With this knowledge, we can begin to recognize our own roles in relationships and express how we feel and think effectively, allowing others to understand us better, thereby creating stronger, healthier relationships.
